How We Get Rid Of Bed Bugs

For maximum results, Superior Pest Solution uses a combination of EPA registered products and heat to eradicate bed bug activity.

Bed Bug Inspection

At Superior Pest Solutions, our bed bug control service starts with a thorough inspection.  Bed bugs often hide in mattresses and box springs, behind baseboards, in floor cracks, and other areas in some cases Superior will use our trained K-9 inspector to determine if your property has a bed bug problem if needed.  Our bed bug dog, has a superior sense of smell and has completed the same rigorous training as cadaver, bomb and drug-sniffing dogs in order to accurately pinpoint bed bug infestations.  If our K-9 confirms the presence of bed bugs, Superior will explain the findings and provide a quote for treatment.

Bed Bug Preparation

In order for the treatment to be effective, there is a degree of preparation required.  Superior will provide a bed bug heat treatment preparation handout that explains what items must be removed from the premises and what other tasks must be completed prior to and possibly on treatment day.

Bed Bug Treatment

On the day of your appointment, a technician well-versed in bed bug control will treat baseboards, molding, cracks, and crevices with an application of EPA registered materials.

Then we’ll heat the structure to kill all stages of bed bugs.  Research has shown that all bed bug life stages (adults, nymphs, and eggs) die within minutes at a temperature of 122°F. During the thermal remediation process, temperatures in your home will be from 120ºF and 140°F in order to eliminate bed bugs living in or throughout walls, floors, furniture, and other unreachable areas.

A typical bed bug heat treatment takes several hours but occupants will be able to return the same day.  Once the Customers receiving bed bug heat treatments must remain out of their home for a period of six hours.

Follow Up Inspection

For an additional fee to ensure we’ve completely eliminated the bed bug problem from your home, our bed bug dog and handler will return about 14-25 days after the bed bug heat treatment, to re-inspect the area. We rely on our K9’s amazing ability to detect bed bugs! If our dog gives us the alert, then Superior Pest Control will return and re-treat infested areas and repeat the process until the bed bug infestation has been completely eradicated.  If our K9 lets us know there are no more bed bugs or eggs remaining, we may recommend a bed bug prevention plan to ensure your home remains bed bug free in the future.
